Decorating with Maps

CREATIVE WAYS TO DECORATE WITH MAPS:

Use a map from a recent vacation destination as the matte when framing travel photo's.

Does a specific location hold a special place in your heart? Is it somewhere you used to live? The place you grew-up? Your dream retirement location? Put a map of the location within a heart shaped matte.

Do you love the idea of a collage wall? Why not frames maps of all sizes and colors. This is a fun way to brighten up a dreamy hallway.

Buy a large vintage map online or search for one at a flea market. Frame it and display as a focal piece of artwork.

Make a statement. Paper an entire wall with vintage maps. This is great in a play room, boys room or family room. Use maps of the same color scheme for continuity.

Line the inside of your drawers with maps. Every time you open the drawer, dream of places far away. This is an especially cheerful way to start each, line your medicine cabinet or bathroom closet shelves.

What a creative use for a map. Decoupage the front of a dresser with old map pages. Its a cute and unique idea that your friends will gush over.

Favorite!!! Recycle travel brochures or maps from your recent trip by wrapping souvenirs in the leftover paper. If a loved one is going to be traveling, wrap a gift in a map of the destination. More occasions to wrap gifts in recycled maps: honeymoon/wedding, going away to college, moving to a new town, care packages, and housewarming presents. Use this creative wrapping idea for almost any occasion.
